What We Believe

We are Christians who endeavor to order our personal and church life by the Bible.

The Bible is the Word of God

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is without error in the original autographs (OT: Hebrew & Aramaic, NT: Greek)

The Bible is our authority

We believe the Bible is the sole authority of faith and practice.

God is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

We believe that God is a Triune Being (One essence and three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)

God is the Creator of All Things

We believe that God created all things, that He is All-knowing, All-Powerful, Everywhere Present, Holy, Just, Good, Merciful, and True (there is no falsehood in Him)

He has a master plan

We believe that He works all things according to His good purposes.

All men are sinners

We believe that all men (since the Fall) are sinners by nature, under God’s curse and wrath, thereby heading to Hell, and incapable of rectifying the situation if left to themselves.

Jesus came to save sinners

We believe that God came into the world to save sinners. Jesus, God the Son, took on flesh to identify with sinful men by bearing on the cross, the penalty for their sin.

Jesus died & rose again

We believe that Jesus not only died, but He was buried and that He rose again. His resurrection manifesting His victory over both sin and death.

The Lord gives a new heart

We believe that the Holy Spirit gives a new heart unto those for whom Jesus died so that they most freely repent of their sin and embrace Christ as their Savior and Lord.

New Life

We believe that true Christianity is more than a profession of faith, it is a life with God. This new life, this new birth, is of paramount importance, as the scripture says, “You must be born again.”

Brothers & Sisters in Christ

We believe that those who have a saving knowledge of Christ and have experienced the new birth (i.e.- they have this new heart for God and desire to walk in His ways) are our brothers and sisters in Christ regardless of their denominational affiliation.

1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith

More specifically, we are Reformed Baptists. Although we share the previously stated essentials of the faith with our brothers and sisters, we embrace the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith as that which most faithfully exhibits the doctrines of the Bible.

Reformed Baptist?

There is so much diversity among Baptist churches that just the word “Baptist” can evoke an image quite contrary to what we believe and what we are like. If you were to drive through the South, you might be surprised to see two or three Baptist churches fairly close together, because they are different.

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches. (Matthew 13:31-32)
